Mantec International, LLC Services was honored with the Export Firm of the Year Award during the LA Minority Enterprise Development (MED) Week Awards ceremony and Business fair on Tuesday, October 8, 2002 held at the Majestic Kodak Theater in Hollywood, which was the home of this year's Academy Awards. The awards ceremony was attended by over 800 people and was hosted by the Los Angeles Minority Business Opportunity Committee (LA MBOC) funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce, The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), and the City of Los Angeles' Mayor's Office of Economic Development. Each year the President of the United States proclaims MED Week to recognize and promote the achievements of minority-owned business enterprises.

 

Mantec International, LLC Services was recognized and honored for its efforts and results in promoting trade for U.S. companies with India. Mantec's success in helping U.S. companies export to India has grown from $500,000 worth of exports in 2000 to $1.5 million in 2001 to over $30 million in 2002.

 

 

Mantec was also recognized for organizing a very unique and successful series of seminars on "Doing Business with India: Opportunities in the World's Largest Free Market". The goal of these seminars is to inform and update U.S. Organizations on how they can benefit from the large Indian market and to provide contacts that will facilitate their market-entry into India. Mantec's team of experts share in-depth information, including proven approaches, solutions to common challenges, and industry-specific outlines of how best to start doing business with India.

 

The seminars are organized in cooperation with the World Trade Center Association LA-Long Beach and support from the Consulate General of India, San Francisco. The first seminar was held in 1994 at the Long Beach Hilton and has since grown in size and stature as the exclusive West Coast Event on Doing Business with India.

 

This year's event will be held on November 21, 2002, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the International Ballroom at the Hilton Long Beach, Two World Trade Center, Long Beach, CA. The opening address at this year's event will be by the Honorable H.S. Viswanathan, Consul General of India, San Francisco. This year's event features some additions to the previous events including Breakout sessions and raffle prizes. There will be three breakout sessions to highlight the unique opportunities in specific industries. The breakout sessions will be on Infrastructure, Service & Technology and Product Exports with experts going into more depth in these areas. This year's event also features fantastic raffle prizes for the participants with the Grand prize being a round trip Business Class ticket to India. Mantec International, LLC Services was founded in 1994 with the mission to facilitate and promote trade and business between the huge India market and the United States. Mantec International, LLC Services works closely with its affiliate in India, Mantec Consultants Private Limited, which was founded in 1979 and has a full time staff of 80 including engineers, MBA's, finance executives and project managers to help companies set up projects in India, export to India and source from India. This event carries on the WTCA's tradition of honoring a select group of individuals whose initiative, perseverance and understanding of the global marketplace explicitly represent the criteria of the Hall of Fame Award. The event was attended by over 300 people which included distinguished citizens like the Honorable Beverly O'Neill, Mayor of Long Beach, Mr. Thomas Decker, President of the LA area Chamber of Commerce, and Ms. Mary Delmege, Western Regional Director for the US Department of Commerce.

 

The WTCA is honored distinguished individuals from a variety of industries, coming from as far as Sao Paolo, Brazil and as near as the Port of Long Beach. The other honorees were Mr. Robert Dedman, Chairman and Founder of ClubCorp; Mr. Ozires Silva, President and CEO of VARIG Brazilian Airlines; Mr. Bob Malone, President of BP for the Western United States and the Board of Harbor Commissioners for the Port of Long Beach.

 

 

Mantec International, LLC Services was established in 1994 by Mr. Arvinder Brara and Mr. Ishwinder Brara to assist US companies in successfully doing business with India. Mantec has successfully arranged numerous joint ventures, collaborations and marketing programs for American companies in India and is fully supported by its Indian affiliate Mantec Consultants, which was established in 1979 by Mr. Arvinder Brara and has a staff of nearly 100 engineers, MBAs, marketing personnel and IT personnel.

 

In collaboration with the World Trade Center Association Los Angeles - Long Beach, Mantec has been holding annual seminars to educate American companies about the Indian market. This series of seminars, titled "Opportunities for American Business in India", has shown many companies how to best benefit from this huge and lucrative market of a billion people.

 

Mantec has also been assisting American companies through the Information Technology manpower crunch of recent years. Mantec's India operations, based in New Delhi, include a software development center and a customer care center, which provide customer service and technical support for customers of American companies.
